blockbuster late fees

I just got a letter in the mail from blockbuster saying I owe them 4.21 in late fees. (which i do). It also says to "please respond by sept. 22".

what the hell does that mean? Are they actually going to make a big deal out of 4 dollars? I was just going to pay it the next time i rent a movie -- which probably won't be by next week. How long can i put this off before they start harassing me more? (or will they ever?)

(all this time of having a blockbuster card, and this is the first late fee i've carried for an extended amount of time :Q)
 
Blockbuster can report 10 cents on your credit report, and even if you pay it, it's a bad mark for 7 years. Pay the $4.

thats my point.. its ONLY 4 dollars. And its not like i was planning on not paying it. just waiting until the next time i have a reason to go.. I just dont' visit blockbuster veryday, and wasn't going to go out of my way to go to one over 4 measly dollars.

They can't because they don't have his SIN 🙂

They could send a collection agency. It would cost them money, of course, but maybe they would do it to prove a point. I believe that the amount is so small that even the collection agency can never put anything against his credit report. I'd almost not pay them just to see what happens!
