Ok, I live in a really small part of Boston, it has about 1 or 2,000 residents I think. There is one place for one thing, CVS for pharmacy, Star Market for Groceries, Dunkin Donuts for Coffee and donuts, etc, etc. Well now we don't have a Blockbuster, they expect us to drive two cities away...Anyone do Netflix? I don't know if I trust them since the postal service sucks here, once I got my neighbor's dvd in my mailbox, I don't want that to happen...

Yep, it's called charlestown, you can walk from one side to the other in about 30 minutes. I admit there are a lot of Dunkin Donuts in boston, but there are still more Starbucks.
 
Eh... Blockbuster in my area likes to carry FullScreen versions of the majority of it's movies.

Oh well, I can't complain too much... I won one of those free yr of rentals from the Wendy's contests. Netflix is good as long as your mailperson is good.
 
2,000 person town and it takes 30 minutes to walk across? I live in a city of 16,000 and it takes 45 minutes to walk across. That's one fat small town.

Charlestown is a bit bigger than 2000 people 😉


I find it hard to believe that there isn't a video store nearby.... are you sure there isn't a West Coast Video? Or a Hollywood Express?
 
I used Netflix for awhile, well, my wife did. They were very reliable. Of course, you have to plan your rentals ahead of time. Plus, it was great getting movies without getting my lazy ass out of the house.

Everything comes Media Mail I believe, so if your PO sucks then maybe that's not a good idea. On the plus side, they pay for the return shipping🙂

Everything comes and goes back by First-class mail.
 
Try search here and in Hot Deals for several older netflix threads (might even check archived threads, there was at least one long thread a couple of months ago).

There is a West Coast Video a couple of cities away, about the same distance the closest blockbuster is.
