will most movie titles now be released in 3 formats (DVD, Blu Ray, HD-DVD)?

or has each major movie company selected the format they will support? (I don't even know many there are...Fox, Paramount, Universal, Sony, MGM??)

Why would the stores need to be bigger? DVD cases are small.

I think it will be awhile before they start renting out HD media...its more expensive and not enough people would rent them as HD media has been slow to take root in consumers homes...slower than expected.

Yup. Not to mention that a large number of stores still carry some VHS.

Aren't DVD's supposed to play on HDDVD and Blu-Ray devices anyway?

No reason for them to change just yet. I'd bet that even 2% of AT doesn't have one of the new formats yet.
