Block plugin installation popups in IE?

Is there a way to block the popups in IE that ask if i want to install so-and-so? They are usually spyware .. or worse. I just don't want to accidentally press YES. Ideally, I should be alerted to a website's request to install a legitimate plugin. Otherwise, I will be sitting wondering why the website isn't working.

Try changing the Security Settings (Tools | Internet Options | one of the tabs)

Enable Install On Demand (Internet Explorer) -> already Unchecked
Enable Install On Demand (Other) -> already unchecked

I could disable 'Third Party-Browser extensions' .. but I want Shockwave to work.
