I'm usually ok when people find out my number, but there are times when I'd rather not have the person on the other side know my cellphone number. Such as when I call someone, hit the answering machine and hang up. I had a clunky old Motorola phone that must've weighed one or two pound and there was a feature to block my number on next call. I have a Motorola 120c now. It doesn't have this feature, however I am using a different carrier as well. Is it dependent on the phone or the carrier?

Sounds like something that would be tied to the carrier, since that feature on landline phones depends on your Baby Bell company's service. Call your provider.

I think it's pretty standard -- precede the number you're dialing with *67... works for me on my home and cell (Nextel) phones.

Should work from any phone, no matter what service you have, no matter what company provides your phone service.

my nokia 5165 has a feature where you can turn it on/off. And, AT&T also can turn it on for me.

Do I dial in *67 before the number and simply hit "send"? On land phone, you dial *67, then wait for the dial-tone then dial the number.

Thanks man. I tested it out on my friend. She's got my # on her phonebook and it says my name so she usually answers "what ups!!! how are you doing?!" , but she said, hello, can I ask whose calling? so I'm guessing it worked :D :D
