Blizzcon, anyone watching?

Just found out it was going on. Looks really professional the way they are showing the matches.

Watching the panels. I'm intrigued with overwatch. I'm not going to bitch like most blizz fans and wait to see the final product. Only thing that i'm disappointed about is there were rumors they would do an HD remake of warcraft 3, and they didnt announce that. But I dont blame them for not redoing old games. You only have so many resources.

People still get hype about Blizzard? I thought that fad was over since WoW seems to not be as popular as it once was.

Well I care more about the fact they are nothing more than overmarketed overhyped monetized casualized trash now than how popular WOW or any other shit is right now.

Anyone going this year? Thinking about checking it out Sunday.

I had wanted to go, stayed up all night waiting to buy the tickets upon release, clicked refresh at exactly the time when the queue started, and was immediately bumped to 10,000th in line.

I assume you're buying someone's pass if you're going for just one day?

Over 7 million people still play the game. Do you realize they had hoped to initially double the highest population MMO in 2004, which was only 500k subs?

Subs actually went up the last earning call. The game will still be profitable in its current model with just 1 million subscribers.

Let's just say.. I can get in.. lol. Been the last 2 BlizzCons.

I'll be interested in how it turns out. Even though I like the visuals and the gameplay, something about TF2 didn't hook me (probably the fact no one I know plays it). This seems to offer a lot of the same, maybe it'll have that certain something to make it fun.

Kotaku link. Refuse to click.

Uh...good for you I guess? I hate all of Gawker's trashblogs but no one really gives a fuck that you refuse to click Kotaku. This is about Blizzcon. There's got to be 100 other sites you could find out about the game on, I'm sure at least one of them has enough "journalistic integrity" for you.

So post one that isn't involved in the gamergate scandal and I'll click it.

Yes, there are people out there who do care even if you don't.

You sound mad, though. Why you mad? You mad, bro? Why you mad?

Hah, gotcha. Were the previous Blizzcons worthwhile to attend?

It's actually really fun. To a lot of those people it's their major vacation of the year. You know how some people love to party it up in Vegas? This is their Vegas so they go all out.

I was in line at the bar one year and one of the guys turns around and buys the entire line shots. I talked to him for a bit and he told me he came from Atlanta and was planning this for a while. He then bought a few more rounds for us.

Now if you're asking me if it is worth a $500 ticket? For me I would say no. You would have to really love Blizzard for it to be worth it. Basically I go there get drunk, walk around, and play the new WoW or SC2 for a bit and watch the shows.

WCS is going on right now on Twitch.

Blizzard is the game industry BlackBerry, Ltd (RIM). Maybe a few years younger in the cycle but definitely on their way to nothingness.
