Blinking power LED - Asus A8N SLI Premium

My new sysem ran great for several days. This evening I powered it down and when I attempted to power it back up it wouldn't start. I've checked power connections and the leads running from the case power switch to the MB and all seems in order.

I did notice that the green LED on the motherboard (the one that indicates that it has power) is blinking somewhat irregularly. Is this normal? Or is my power supply / mb flaky?

The Power LED should stay solid green. My guess is that you're motherboard is not completely grounded and short-circuiting or a possible psu issue.

Yea my power supply burned up. I bought a new one but the system won't boot up. The green light just blinks. and the fans just jitter back and forth.

Any suggestions.

I did that and I took out the battery to then reset the cmos, but still not boot. I even took out a power supply from another working computer and put it in and it still did not work just blinking green led.

My old power supply smelt like it burned up so all I did was go out and buy a new power supply. I hooked it up and nothing happened except that the mother board green led light up but no boot up and no fans or hdds.
