Blinking hard drive light

I have noticed that when my laptop isn't being used the HDD light will flash like it's accessing data. I ran task manager and it appears to be svchost. This is a SSD. Is it TRIM that is doing this?

When I had XP on the desktop the HDD light would flash when idle too.

Trim, garbage collection, indexing, AV monitoring, and any other background activities your system uses. Run MSCONFIG and click on the Services tab - your list will show what you have turned on. All perfectly normal in any Windows system.
