Season 5 now showing.
there's 11 episodes.

this week is episode 3.

i'm impressed on the ways the show is keeping her tattoo puzzles in play.
Seasons 1+2: original tats
Seasons 3+4: new set of tats overlayed over old tats is put on her (not consentual)
season 5 (final season): mystery person using her tats to help(?) her

so i'm re-watching Firefly and looked to see what Jewel Staite (Firefly's mechanic) has been doing in the 18yrs since the show ended.

She guest starred on Blindspot (s02e19) but i dont remember seeing her.
i had to watch that episode again.
man, she's unrecognizable! :(
Never in a million years would i have thought it was her.

She went from extremely cute to...
Blindspot S02E19 (15yrs after Firefly):

And she's going to be guest starring again as Kiva in the finale episode (S05E11).

so the series is over.

the last episode (s5e11) was basically cameo city with every guest star (dead or alive) that appeared on the series since the beginning.
everyone except FBI asst Director Bethany Mayfair played by Marianne Jean-Baptiste.
scheduling didn't work out executive producer Martin Gero says.

also, Agent Reade was killed off at the beginning of Season 5 but i cant find out the specific reason why they booted him off the show.
"There were some business reasons why we needed to kill off one of the cast members. That was just the reality of doing the show," creator Martin Gero tells ET.

but what are these business decisions? was it cost?
they had to reduce budget for season 5 in order to have one???

Anyway, s5e11 was the 100th episode.
thats the magic # to get lucrative syndication deals.

and the final scene ended the way the show started... a very fitting closure.

edit:
list of all the reoccurring characters and major guest stars plus their fate:

edit2:
Jaimie Alexander must sit in the make-up chair for 7 1/2 hours to have all the elaborate tattoos applied to her body for each day's shooting.
thats one hell of a long day for her for each shoot.

edit3:
the 2 main stars appeared in all 100 episodes.
Tasha was in 99 of them. the one she missed was s4e07 according to https://www.tvmaze.com/characters/110290/blindspot-tasha-zapata.
no idea why she wasnt in it.

I watched the first season...and some of the second. It got pretty boring.
