Maybe you've already heard them, but if you like Blind Guardian, maybe you'd like bands like Edguy, Freedom Call, Gamma Ray, Falconer, Lost Horizon, and Paragon.

Mostly German or Swedish rock :)

My other favorites, Hammerfall and Rhapsody.

If you like Blind Guardian, you will almost assuredly love Demons & Wizards, a side project between BG and Iced Earth.

Hehe, Rhapsody. They're so cheesy, but I love 'em anyway. "Eternal Glory" has the greatest intro ever.

And Blind Guardian rocks even more. They're what got me into LOTR. I heard some of their Middle-Earth songs and was like damn, these are awesome, what are they about? And the atmosphere in their song "Lord of the Rings" was just so incredible I had to read the books that inspired it. I still think "Noldor" is my favorite song by them.

Blind Guardian is easily in my top 3 bands of all-time. I don't care for their earlier stuff... but the last 4 albums have rocked my world. Easily the most melodic metal band in existence. Saw them in Chicago a year or two ago. Hansi kicked my ass with his range.

Yeah, Rhapsody's texts caused the creation of a new(to the best of my knowledge) genre of metal among me and my friends, Dragon Rock. :)

Luca Turilli has made some solo very Rhapsody-like stuff as well :)

Yeah, D&W rocks.

Iced Earth and the Demons and Wizards project is how I found Blind Guardian.

Blind Guardian kicks @ss. I remember when I first stumble across them on the 'net in 98/99.

Haha, dragon rock. I love naming genres of metal. Black metal, dragon metal, power metal, battle metal, viking metal, gothic metal, etc.
