Blew a speaker in my car today. :(

Turned up Animals a little too loud. Now it just kinda makes a noisy paper wooshing sound. 😀

RIP '89 Dodge Reliant Speaker

wow. I personally find it impossible to blow a speaker. My ears are extra sensitive. (I can hear the whine from the tv a floor below and 100 feet away from me when it gets turned on).

Nice dude! I'm supprised I didn't blow the speakers out in my old car. It was an 82 BMW 320i, the speakers literally were made of like paper. Me and my friends were laughing about it when we pulled them out. One of my buddies did manage to blow one of his out on the same type car.

As a former Dodge 600 owner, I feel such kinship beckons I share in the sorrow of your loss.

You have my condolences.

Well, the good news is that it will cost about $20 for a pair of replacement speakers that sound as "good" as the stock speakers that come with an '89 Dodge Reliant. Installation will probably be a bitch, though.

No such thing as a Dodge Reliant.

Maybe a Dodge Aries or a Plymouth Reliant.

The front speakers are 3.5" round, and the rears are 5x7".
You can vastly improve the sound in those cars by buying some 5 1/4" round speakers and mounting them down low in the front doors. If you pull back the interior door material, you'll find that there is a big round area towards the front of the door that will accomodate a speaker very nicely.

Run new wiring to those speakers through the big grommet in the door jamb to your radio. Just disconnect those 3.5" speakers in the dash.

Guess I have a plymouth then because I thought it hysterical that I could get a Reliant K. 😀
