I think the decompression and transfer errors are due to the POS Via 686b southbridge. Someone suggested using a promise pci controller card to fix the problem. I was wondering if this would work, because I experienced this promblem even when I had my ide devices on the onboard promise controller. I though that is basically the same thing as a pci one. Thanks for any suggestions.
