Bleh - 40% of final exam is from chapters not mentioned in class

I really liked this professor, then he does this to our class:| That doesn't seem like all that much extra information, but it is the principle that we are being tested on material never mentioned in class. It would have been fine if he had crammed the lectures so we could at least cover the main topics of the chapters .... but I think it would be better to just leave those chapters out of the final all together.

I asked him how in depth we should go in the chapter and his reply was, "know those two chapters"

Wednesday. It is the easiest final I have, but it is the principle that bothers me.

your getting a good taste of grad school. My professors basically just open the door to subjects. Its my job to do the rest.
