bleah d virus in bios - removal help!

Found bleah d virus in bios (boot sector?) last night - not found by Norton but freeware antivirus program. checked site and Norton for removal help - could not find any - not sure what this virus does except take up some memory??? how does one get rid of this?
thanx much - this is the third virus found in a month! yikes!!

From what I found, the bleah viruses only replicate- there is no payload. Norton does list bleah d (b) in its virus definitions. One way to try and remove a MBR virus is to run fdisk /mbr from a clean and write-protected floppy, but you want to match the DOS on the floppy to the DOS on the hardrive you are trying to clean. Power off the computer right after you see the DOS prompt after executing the command. I've never tried it and you could wipe out your hardrive. If you have Norton, try running the DOS antivirus, just make sure your disks are write-protected before you do.

Jerr - sounds like more trouble (possible loss of hard drvie data, etc.) than it's worth to get rid of this virus. I might try to dos run of norton
