My questions for you guys and Dell, How many drives did they order? It has
to be anywhere over 1000+ drives in stock! Especially at this price! I betcha, just
this forum alone has roughly over 100-200 orders ready to ship. I will
eventually buy a few more down the road if it becomes available!

Once you get these drives in how can you tell it they are in fact the 8mb cache version? If it is a Dell branded drive wen you go to enter the information in at WD website it will not show up. The only thing can hope for is that te still leave all the part #'s and model #'s on without covering them up with ugly stickers

I'll tell you what I have bult up some nice systems through tese forums and damned cheap too!!!!

120gb 8mb cache Hdd...............................142.10
antec clone case w/ neon and window......118.00

That's a great price!!! I need to think about if I want to spend that much for a hard drive. I already have a 60GB, and it's almost half full...

how are you guys getting a discount on this harddrive? I don't see anything on their web site. was a discount from last week?

also, this harddrive only comes with a 1year warranty from DELL, not WesterDigital. I know this as fact, i purchase one of these last month, for around $188. and I have checked my serial number on the WesterDigital web site, and it is not elligible for a warranty from WD. I have since talked with Dell customers service, and they confirmed that WD will not warranty it, because it is a 'dell branded' harddrive. I know, this hard drive is no different then the other model they sell, as retail (other then box and possible accessories).

Yes it's dell branded i got one of them two weeks ago. You only get a one year warrenty from dell. I've sent back monitors to them before They issue you a RMA number. no problems.

It's not like your buying an IBM drive and have to worry about the warrenty.

Whoever is thinking about buying this drive for that price. Kick your self next week if you dont get it because of not ordereing.

Nope, around december Best Buy had a sale on crucial memory, one of the last great sales on memory. Prices even then were high, but BB had set up the print ad months in advance so they kinda got hit on that one. Anyway, it was 256 meg 2100 DDR for $35 with a $10 mail in rebate. Or they also had 256 meg pc 133 ones for the same price. Cool thing is, it still has a lifetime warranty, so supposedly you just bring it back to best buy if you ever have a problem.

So...while I am waiting for my much needed HD (gonna have 365GB once I get my new 240GB), any one know where to find 3.5"-5.25" mounting brackets? I ran out of 3.5" slots for my HD, LOL.

lol.. those are long links from quoting.... :p

uh.. adding a new hard drive is as easy as adding more ram... should be even easier on a 8200 cuz that case pops open easily and very accessible.. got a 4400 that uses the same case.. nice quiet case.. already has a 80GB drive so no need to get in on this deal no matter how much id like to have an extra 120GB.. :(

I bit as well. I need the space badly. I just hope I don't have to cancel this order like the two other 'hot' deals from dell. at least it was easy to cancel, and the authoiization on my credit card was removed after a few days.
