Blazing Angels problem - error about drivers??

I keep getting an error telling me that my graphics drivers are not up to date. I have an ATI 4870 and I am using the current 8.12 drivers and the most current DX9 and 10. WHat is the problem? I bought it on STEAM so I know the patches are up to date.

it's an older game so maybe it doesn't read the drivers right and thinks its not up to date? will it play?

No, it wont even let me get into the game at all.

Yes, I have the latest DirectX installed from the MS site

Hi v3rax, I had a similar problem with the game.
Steps that solved the problem for me:
1) Install the game
2) Run the DX setup FROM the game disk.
3) Play.

It really is that simple.
Step 2 is what I had missed the first time.

I appreciate the suggestion but unfortunately, I bought the game through STEAM and therefore do not have the disk. I have sent a support ticket to STEAM, but they have not replied.
