Studied for 4 hours this morning, but I can't bring myself to study now.

Any other college students have any tips about how to get some work done? :p It always feel oh so great the next day when I get an 8-10 hour day in, but actually getting it done that day is always oh so difficult!

One thing I have found that works for me (unfortunately not today) is going from library to library. I have 3 libraries I usually go to, I have to put in 3 hours a day in each (on days where I eitehr have no classes, or an hour of classes) and my day isn't done until I have done 3 hours in each.

Anyone else have any tips?

You need to take breaks often, do something that doesn't tax your brain too much.

I usually do 20 minute intervals when memorizing, but I just feel that 15/7 would be too inefficient. I do 50/10 right now. I may change it to 30/10 though soon.

During my breaks I watch TV shows on my laptop. Definitely relaxing :D!

I find it helps to take a walk every 1-2 hours if I have to study for an extended period of time. I generally do studying by sections rather than a specific time, so that I reward myself by finishing each part of a chapter. Anything that takes concentration, like math or programming, I either do with silence or ambient/new age music (w/ e2c's on). I prefer to study in one of the comp labs in the library, as there's enough table space plus I can check ATOT from time to time (I'm actually posting right now in between reading C++ textbook).

Also, I don't know if this would work for you, but I like to drink green tea. Helps keep me awake and focused without making me hyper. Most importanty, don't multitask if you can help it

I usually like to walk also, as I get drowsy after studying for several hours. That's where my walks to lunch/dinner and to seperate libraries help.

I also like to listen to music if I'mn not doing memorization, or anything extremely strenuous mentally.

I prefer to stick with water, but I will definitely have to stop multitasking :p I alwaeys keep my laptop on and respond to economics questions if anyone has them. Probably going to start leaving the wireless adapter at home.

Bump!

I do the background noise thing too, usually listen to trance music or something with minimal, or no vocals.
