Blargh, lottery

Someone owes me $300 or so for services. They handed me a lottery ticket worth $1K. Now I gotta figure out how to get to DesPlanes to cash the thing, but the $700 for a 6 hour trip will be well worth it 😀

The taxes really arn't as bad in illinois apparently. $30 on $1000 in a 'lottery tax,' but you also have to file it as income of course. Then again, for prizes $5K plus they take out both the lottery tax and the state taxes right there - and give you some tax form to prove you've paid x% tax on it. Wonder what happens if you loose the form . . .
