blank screen on new system

I just put together my new system. ASROCK conroe-xfire board, x1900xtx card, e6300 cpu and 2GB OCZ ram. I have power to all devices but when I power on the computer the screen is blank. No beeping sounds. I tried reseating the video card several times and it didn't help. I also tried putting it in the slower PCI-e slot and it did no good. I also have a new 550 power supply that I've confirmed is good. Is the video card defective?Any help?

Welcome to AT.

This could be a lot of things.

For the beeping sounds, are you sure you have the PC speaker hooked up (or is it integrated into the MB?)

Are all your fans spinning once you power up?

Don't stop at the videocard for reseating. Ram and CPU could also need it.

Try disconnecting all devices that you don't need to post.

Is the CMOS battery jumper in the correct position?

Any other jumpers you may need to adjust according to the manual based on your configuration?

Check which PCI-e slot you need to use for a single card.

Is the extra power connector attached to your videocard if it needs one?

You can try to set up your motherboard on a non-conductive surface outside your case to eliminate the possibility that it's shorting out on the case.

Everything has power going to it. All the fans are spinning. The only thing I haven't done is reseat the cpu. I'll try that later today. I've reseated the ram, everything except cpu. Thanks for the help.
