Blank Screen (No Picture/video)

I installed a new hard drive & loaded XP onto the drive but ran into difficulty setting the resolution for the monitor. By changing the settings, it caused the monitor to just show a blank screen when XP is fully loaded (do have a screen while initially loading & in setup). I tried different changes in setup & also removing the battery from the motherboard but that didnt work. Anyone have any suggestions? Its a Dell 4550 with an integrated graphics card. Thanks.

Can you boot to safe mode? If so, you may be able to reset the monitor settings from there.

Thanks, I've tried hitting F8 to get to safe mode but still get a blank screen.
