Blank Screen, at a complete loss...

Hi all,

1st post and its a baffling one.

History:

I had a Gigabyte DS3, worked fine for a few weeks, then one day during gaming, I got a quick blue screen then a black screen. After some testing of components and getting advice, everyone thought it was the motherboard. I sent it back for a refund then bought an MSI P6N Plat.

When I got it, it had a crack that later broke off on one of the mounting holes. In any case when I installed it and powered it up, same problem, all fans spin but all I get is a blank screen... I did the following

RAM:
Corsair C4, I tried them in a different PC, they worked. I then tried one at a time in each slot, same problem, blank screen.

CPU:
E6420, tried it in a different PC, it worked.

Video card:
EVGA 8800 GTS 320, could not try in a different PC, but I did use an old 7600 GT that I know works, but same issue just a blank screen.

PSU
OCZ 700W, tried same PSU from a different PC that works, same issue blank screen.

I even took the MB out of the case, but that did not help either.

At this point I am lost, I have tried every major component in another PC and they worked. I am having the same issue I did with the DS3 but now with a new mobo. I tested all the components in another PC and they work, so I am just completely lost. I have no idea what to do or try at this point. All I can think of is this board needs 1.8V ram to post the first time? I do not understand why in another PC the parts work but don't work when all hooked up together. I do not have a case speakers so I do not get any beep codes. Could it simply be bad luck since the MSI board had a cracked
mounting hole? Would that cause the mobo to not post?

Any help appreciated.

Cracked mounting hole? Was it new? No new mb should have any crack of any sort on it. RMA it now as it's probably already been abused. I run the p6n sli plat and it's a fantastic mb but how did you crack it? Are all of your power connectors properly attached? Are your mb standoffs in the right places? I know its frustrating when problems like this occur and I've had my fair share of them. Just approach it in a systematic manner until you eliminate all possibilities and find the answer. I went through a similar situation yesterday while replacing the mb in my parents pc.

It came cracked, but while aligning it, the tip broke off. I RMA'ed it, hoping the crack was the problem. The mere fact that 2 mobos had the same issue points to one of the components. I tried to find which one by using the RAM and CPU in another computer, they both worked... So then I thought maybe the PSU, so I tried a different PSU, same issue, black screen. I even tried different RAM and still nothing. When I get a new board I will start back from scratch because at this point I have tried so many different things, its all just beyond frustrating. I honestly thought a new mobo would fix it, oh well... To answer your question, yeah I chechked the connectors and even a new PSU but no luck.
