Blank monitor, cpu hangs

Just recently my monitor will go blank, and the only way to get it back is to restart my computer. Yesterday I was playing music and this happened. The monitor went blank again, but then part of the song just kept repeating (about 2 seconds worth). At first I thought it may just be my graphics card overheating, but when I heard the song heating that made me think it was a CPU problem. Anyone have any ideas?

I doubt it's your CPU.

I would start by uninstalling and installing updated Video Drivers.

If that doesn't work you should probably run Memtest for awhile to check out your RAM.
