Blank DVDs?

Just wondering if there is really any difference between any company's blank dvds, or are they all just pretty much the same?

edit: and maybe you could suggest some of the best companies?

A couple of brands are considered tops - MCC/Verbatim Data Life Plus is one. There are several threads in this section on this topic, just do a search and you'll find them. Always good to do a search before starting YAT on the same topic.

Yes there is a big difference in quality of media. As Zepper said go with Verbatim 16x +R's which are usually on sale at any one of the chain office supply stores/electronics stores on any given week and you probably won't go wrong.

The Verbatims you usually find on sale in the chain stores (cake pack) usually aren't the Data Life Plus, but they are pretty good anyway. Well, I guess they aren't making the DLP DVDs any more. I guess most folks just aren't willing to buy premium media any more.

The Verbatims are on sale at BustBoy this week...

Agree, Verbatim's (MCC media); keep your eyes open for a sale at OfficeMax. FujiFilm (made in Japan) are TY discs, also top notch, these go on sale at Staples from time to time.

I haven't seen any fujifilm TY media in about 6 months... not for cheap or readily available. but yep Verbatim disks manufactured by MCC are great. Taiyo Yuden is great too if you can find them. You'll get clean burns and long shelf life with these if you burn/store them right.
