My computer has many weird and unexplainable problems. This is the newest.
When I bought Ghost 9, installing it froze my system. I uninstalled it and installed Nero, but after using the Nero 6.3 and then 6.6 backup, every time I put in a blank DVD, the system froze again. I could push the restart button on the computer case and it would restart fine, but a new blank DVD would have the same result. I think that first time, blank CDs were OK.
I made a new, different system drive and the same thing happened after using Nero backup. I think that time even blank CDs didn't work.
Now, every time I use the Nero backup, afterward I have the same result--and not just with the same DVD writer. A donut shaped piece of foam eventually came out of the first one, but that hasn't happened with the Pioneer 104 I've gone back to.
I've reformatted system drives several times because I must make backups. Microsoft isn't too happy with my activating the same copy of Windows XP Pro over and over.
