blair witch project: scary?

last scene still gets to me sometimes when i think about it. but ill bet if i go back and watch it, i will not be as scared as i am by simply confabulating the design, shot and lead in to it.

It's scary if you watch it in the dark without a big group of people.

Probably, yeah.

If you watch the movie the way it was intended to be watch it is. I saw it about 6 months before it was released to theaters. It was a copy of a copy of a copy so the quality was nearly non existent. I was at a friend's house and they just said somebody gave this to them and we watched it. Sort of like the story line of the Ring. I also found it scary because some of the things actually have happened to me while camping. Wake up in the morning and everything is moved or hearing people talking at night when you are on a 12 mile hike.

Not in any way shape or form scary.

It was one of the worst halfassed films I've ever seen, if not the worst, and I've seen a LOT of crappy b-movies over the years.

EDIT: some people like it, people have different opinions. I was just expressing mine. If it sounds interesting to you, then watch it. The worst that can happen is you would have wasted a few bucks and a couple hours on a disappointment. But perhaps you will see in it what I haven't.

My brother inlaw was one of the producers of The Blair Witch Project,

Robin Cowie..

I have invested in his new Film Altered... up at Alteredmovie.com

Hope all goes well with this one too.. Time Will tell.

When I first watched it, I was in the theatres along with all the initial hype so it was pretty freaky. Once I saw it on video/DVD it wasn't scary at all.

The movie as a whole...no.

But as was mentioned, the final scene kind of got to me. I used to sleep in a basement that looked really similar to the one in the movie (100 year old Victorian home). The washer & dryer were also down there. My wife wouldn't do laundry in the evenings for a few months after watching the movie. 😀

The rest of the movie was just a headache(shakey cameras, bleh!) and hardly what I would consider remotely frightening.

Worst frigging movie ever. Unless, of course, you're scared by whiny idiots roaming lost in the woods saying "fvck" a lot.
