Blade vs. Electric Razor, Part 2

Perhaps some of you recall my thread about receiving an electric razor for Christmas.
Well, the great experiment is over. The high tech, bells and whistles buzzer is goin' back. There ain't no way, no how that any electric can compare to a blade.
It's been about two weeks and I haven't received a good shave since I started using this mini mower.
Hello, Mach III Turbo. I've got that smooth as a baby's bottom look goin' again, and the women are lovin' me for it.

Blade would win, he's a half vampire muscular black dude with a sword and martial arts skills. The electric razor is just a small electromechanical device for trimming hair.

I got a nice electric for Xmas one year thinking how great it would be to just be able to zip that over my face in the morning and be on my way. After a few weeks of perpetual stubble (since none of them shave as close as a blade...period) and lots of neat ingrown hairs on my neck, I went back to my Gilette Sensor.

I do use the electric on my legs during the cycling season tho....it's just too expensive to use a blade when you eat one each time you go after your legs. 😛

You are the current front-runner for the "Dorkiest Thing Stated On ATOT Today" Award. Check back in at midnight to see if anyone has managed to top the above. 😉

Aw shucks 😱 And I thought this was going to be just another day.

Two weeks really isn't enough, it took me about a month before I got a comparable shave between my electric and my blades (mach 3). My razor specifically said to give it a month.

Since I started shaving my head I've gone back to a blade since I can do both in the shower quite easily.

You should be excited. The grand prize is a life-size cardboard "Princess Amidala" cutout.

Please note: this item is not water-resistant. :Q 😛

I am all about the blade, even if it does cause nicks. Although they are usually from carelessness.

Been using a norelco electric razor for the past 3 years. Althought blades do shave neater and closer I hate having to deal with shaving cream or gel then rinsing it off. There is just to many steps.

With the electric razor I just dry shave and the shave seems to last the whole day. I am a girl by the way 🙂

I am thinking of getting a later model electric razor but those with the gel kind of defeats the purpose of going electric for me at least.

Peace

I have a Mach 3 and a Norelco electric.
I have been using the electric lately. I like the feel of a razor shave but I tend to break-out a little when I use the razor...

I just enjoy the feeling of a good blade shave. Best time is right after a hot shower. 🙂

I agree. makes the hair and skin softer and less pulling. I only shave about once a week or when I want some and I only use blade and Noxema sensitive skin creme.

I had an electric but it pulled and did'nt give that baby face close shave you get with a blade.

I've been using an electric for about 10 years now. As long as I don't shave until after I've gotten out of the shower, it's damn near (but not quite) as close as a blade.

I also like being able to shave at stoplights on my way to work if I'm running late. 🙂

I used an electric razor from when i started to shave (in the 10th grade?) to about my freshman year in college. Since then I have been using the Mach 3 and now the Mach 3 turbo 🙂

i heard blades can give you rosacea later in life. any proof?
My dad's been using a razor for over 50 years, no rosacea there.

I've been using my new razor lately, but because I'm basicly on vacation until monday, I haven't been shaving a whole lot. It does a fairly good job, I will definatly have to use it daily though. It's the norelco with the gel, which I only use if my beard gets long enough to need it.

I got a Panasonic for Christmas. I was starting to hate it until this morning. I got the best shave yet. It does miss some but it is getting better.
