OK, when this was out in theaters, I didn't see it primarily because it got bad reviews.

Last night my fiance wanted to watch her stupid shows (See Dawson's Creek and the Bachelor) so it was the perfect time to rent Blade 2.

After seeing hte first movie, I was impressed. The end of the first movie kinda dragged along though.

IMHO Blade 2 was better than Blade 1, but knowing the back-story for Blade 2(seeing Blade 1) was/is very important. The movie didn't slow down and was entertaining till the very end.

What were your opinions?

my opinion, is to see Balde 1 then Blade 2. Blade 2 might be confsing if you havn't seen Blade 1.

I liked Blade 1 better than 2.

But they were both very good. Wesley Snipes kicking Vampire ass

That's some sweet stuff.

I have Blade 1 on DVD...plan to get Blade 2 eventually. I just don't have the cash right now.

Blade 1 was along the lines of the original Batman. Dark, mysterious, entertaining, and most of all, good.
Blade 2 was more like George Clooney Batman movies. Never took itself seriously, and more of a diservice to the first movie in the series than a testement to it's worthiness.

I dunno, I didn't like Blade 2 at all. I LOVED Blade 1, thought it was nice, with good action. And Blade 2 DID have good fighting scenes, but I didn't like the story at all. I dunno, my $.02.

EDIT: Woohoo, 1000 posts!!!!!!!

I liked both of the movies but as vi_edit said, the second one takes after a Batman/Clooney movie. None of the less, I thought the second one was kick ass still. :D

I spend more time listening to tracks off the soundtrack than watching it.

Crystal Method - Name Of The Game
Ice Cube and Paul Oakenfold - Right Here Right Now

Hrmm, after reading some posts, maybe I went into the movie not expecting a good movie. The movie was far better than I expected it to be.

Blade was cool, Blade II was not.
Crappy hard to follow story line with to much emphasis on special effects.

As an action movie it was good and didn't disapoint, it just didn't have the same atmosphere about it that the first one did.

Blade 1 is one of my favorite movies. KILLER dvd transfer as well. (though i wish they'd have cleaned up the cheesy cgi blood droplet animations towards the end)

Blade 2 was an over-commercialized crap/blood-fest with cheesy unecessary matrix-like effects. Hard to sit through the whole thing.

oh well, that's just my opinion

That's very true, it doesn't have nearly the same atmosphere that the first did.

I don't think of Blade II as being in the same class with Blade, very few sequels are...
I went in expecting much less movie than Blade...and I think I got a pretty good deal.

I enjoyed both the movies, but like mentioned in previous posts, the second was just a "sequel". Most sequels usually lack something that made the original stand out. Also, some sequels just rely on new technology and don't do anything to further the plot.

Well, I liked both.

HOWEVER, I felt the actual story was a bit contrived (can't think of the right word) in part 2. I don't think it made much sense.

Blade 2 had to much unrealistic action. IE A guy being slammed across the room into a cement wall then getting back up. Also when he was fighting against the blood pack no one can move that fast nor can they bend in that fashion unless they had no bones.

Eh.. Both weren't very good, but they wern'et bad either. Blade 1 was better than Blade 2.

Not sure if warrants a reccomendation, but I wouldn't vote against it. You don't have an answer for me. "It's okay, rent if you want."
