Well, just went through Newegg and ordered a Blackjack with AT&T. I will be ending my contract with Sprint because I am tired of their crappy service and will see how AT&T fairs.

Blackjack is a great smartphone with few quirks to be aware of, just a heads up to you :D

Battery life on a standard, slim, battery is abyssmal. Unless you're religious about charging your phone daily you are likely to find your phone with a dead battery in the morning. There are few of remedies for that. First, always carry a spare battery, likely Samsung includes two of them. Second, get an extended battery. For a while Cingular offered a free extended battery but I don't know if it's still true. Thirdly, disable a full-time 3G data connection as it does drain batteries (search howardforums for this "hack")

Blackjack, like most if not all, Samsung phones uses a proprietory headphone connector, so be careful not to lose the headphones.

Be prepared for few days of frustration while getting used to the buttons on the phone. For whatever reason, Samsung designed the D-pad to be flush with both of the softkeys, so you're likely to hit them repeatedly until you get a hang of it.

Other then those fairly minor quips you're not likely to be disappointed with your purchase. Blackjack is a solid smartphone, with a great suite of pre-installed apps, and is very handsome to boot.

Enjoy your new toy ;)

Ya, I've always wanted one so I finally decided to go for it. Is there a lot of applications you can load on the phone that are 3rd party apps? I'm really not too familiar with what you can and can't do with them.

QFT, I tried to use my standard battery since it keeps the phone slim (1 of the reasons I bought it). After about a week of charging it every day I said F that and stuck that extended in there. It would last a couple of days and it is still fairly slim.

The Samsung headphone jack is prop, but you can easily buy replacements online or at an ATT store.

How much did you pay with contract if you don't mind me asking? Trying to get rid of mine and need to narrow down a price point.

It was free through Newegg with a 2 year contract.

This and this should get you started.
