What do you guys think about BlackICE Defender, is it worth it? or is just another bloatware product that kinda works. I have a home network connected by DSL, I am looking for opinions. Thx!

 
No, BlackICE is a pretty good firewall, not a hoax at all... However there's also ZoneAlarm avaliable, which is just as good and free...
 
I use and like BlackICE. I will check out ZoneAlarm when I install my parent's firewall this winter break.
 
you really cant beat the price of zone alarm. its free. its very intuitive to use as well. even a moron such as myself figured things out pretty quickly.
 
Anyone tried Sygate personel firewall too? Its is also free and was rated an A on a personal firewall match.i think it was done at sharkys.
 
I've been using BlackICE for a couple of days now and I am quite impressed by it. It's nice to be able to see when the university tech people are checking on your comp....heheh.
