Blackened Pixel in the middle of display

I just went out and got the viewsonic A75s and I noticed that in the middle of the screen is a tiny blackened dot/pixel. What is this? Could it be a defect? It seems to be in the EXACT middle of the tube, so it might be intentional. Can someone tell me what this is?

The unit was probably turned on without the yoke plugged in, so it had no vertical or horizontal deflection, and burned the spot in the center of the tube. Nothing can be done to fix it. Exchange it for another.
