Who is got a Blackberry and what do you think about it.

I was thinking of getting an Individual account from ATT since i already have an account with them.
Will be mostly be used for personal use and not in enterprise setting.

you should've gotten a Treo 600/650 (coming soon) instead. 😉

Blackberrys aren't much use for personal.

oh i didnt get it yet.

Nextel has a individual package for like 40$ a month, but thats only web mail no phone.
ATT (which i already have contract with) has a 40$ +39$ voice package.
ATT also carries the Treo 600

Edit: Treo 650, coming soon... any ideas?

HP6315 I fricken rocks!!!

Wifi, Cellphone, and Bluetooth!!!
ok processor, but for wireless data it kicks ass.
It's got a 1.3mp camera.
It's got mixed reviews, but I really want it.
(I've got the PocketPC Phone Edition) Great phone too.
A little big, but can you watch full length divx movies on your phone.
I'm a college student so its not like I use it for enterprise stuff either.

Edit: For ATT you'll need the "XDA" or the even better "XDA II"

Sounds cool.

I just checked out the Treo 650 at palmone.com looks nice.
Unfortunately I have a contract with ATT so I will have to stick on what they offer. Hopefully they will sell also the treo 650. Also ATT only has one pocket pc unit at the moment from AudioVox.

Edit: Treo 650 will be supported by ATT

keep in mind the Treo 650 is PalmOS and not PocketPC. Personal preference.

The T650 is coming to Sprint first, "sometime in November" but you never know. It took Verizon FOREVER to pick it up the T600 so I have no hope of getting the new 650 anytime soon. Hopefully for ATT, they can get it out by christmas time.

I have the Nextel Blackberry 7510. The e-mail part of it is cool, but the phone part is terrible. I get terrible service here in Central Florida. I wouldn't take one if someone paid for me to use it if it was my choice. But I have to use it since my work's IT division relies on them (which is rather funny since they don't work half of the time). Oh well. 🙁

i would say 25% the rest is personal use, family friends.

I was going to buy a new PDA so i thought maybe just get one with built in phone and web email access.

The email is not bad & you can use your calendar if your email server is Exchange (you have purchase I think 10 Blackberry to get the addon for free other wise you have to pay for it). The phone suck because the sound quality isn't as good as cellular and the shape of the device isn't comfortable to use.

IMHO, Blackberry technology get a 4/5 stars for non hardcore tech business people on the go. And, it get 2/5 stars cool factor for computer literate tech crowd.

I've had a Blackberry since they were first released about 2.5 years ago - I'm on my 3rd one right now.

If you're looking for a simple business communication tool, it can't be beat. Wireless e-mail and calendaring are it's strong points. It will do tasks, address books, etc. fine, and has very limited Internet browsing capabilities.

A PDA it's not, but if what you need is simply to stay in touch, it's an excellent tool. Nice, large display with plenty of real estate, good keyboard, and simple interface are definite pluses. Lack of flexibility (ONE game might be nice, even something as simple as MineSweeper), large physical footprint on the belt and lack of any IM features are cons.

There's a lot people around my company that have taken to calling them "crackberries". They are mostly the people that don't have them, however - They just see others madly typing on them in meetings, etc.

My favorite thing, however, is that it's my "ultimate hookey device." I don't have to be in the office to be able to read e-mails and response to them promptly, as necessary. Especially handy when taking a 2-hour lunch at Gameworks. *grin*

Edit: Another con - On my "Blueberry", the phone sucked. Crappy reception and it was very uncomfortable to use. I cancelled it in favor of my old separate cell phone.
