It runs blackberry 6. QWERTY keyboard slides out. Full touch screen.

No platform is right for everyone, it really depends on your needs.

I've only used Pre-production models, so I cannot comment. I'm trying to get a free 9800 from contacts, but it's not so easy now.

I agree, there are simply not enough next-generation smartphones with portrait qwerty keyboards. I don't know why Android manufacturers are in love with the landscape slider format, but personally I can't stand it. I just don't want to hold my phone with both hands every time I have to use the keyboard. The only time I use my phone in landscape mode is when I'm on Youtube or playing a game (in both cases, very rarely)... One-hand with Swype is usable for now (admittedly I've gotten quite good at it now), but I think my next phone will be an Android device similar to the Torch or Droid Pro.
