17-10-2010 update:
So I found that most sold are OEM refurbished, so I shouldn't have a problem.
HOWEVER I do have one more problem. I can't figure out which type of screen I have (There appear to be two types). Everything I've read says look at the back of the LCD screen and get the number there. Carefully scanning the LCD screen I have these two numbers:
(in print) VB081104CM2
(embossed on the metal) LMS265DC01
Do I have type 01 lcd screen?
Looking around I found the following types of LCD screens: 003/004, 001/004, 002/004
None of these numbers directly relate to what I have.
Any suggestions?

Hi, So my BBerry Bold 9000 had a mini accident which left my screen unusable. I confirmed that it is indeed physical screen damage. I looked around to see my options, and it turns out that it is a relatively simple fix - I just need to replace the screen and I'm good to go.
However, I'm curious if the screen qualities differ substancially or not. It seems the screen prices is about 40-50 dollars for a replacement. Are screen generally OEM or third party? How is the screen quality? I really like my 9000 screen, so I'd be dissapointed if I bought a screen only to get something that clearly looks worse.
If there is a quality differential that exists, does anyone know of a site that hosts the higher quality parts even if it is more expensive? When I look around it doesn't seem there is a lot of details - just that 2 different screen types exist. or should I just go with the cheapest I can find?
