Blackberry question...

I have read on Blackberry's site that you can control Active Directory and stuff thru your Blackberry... how does that work, anybody know? I can't find any details 🙁

We looked into using Blackberry's where I work. The people from the cell phone companies would always talk a huge story about you can do this and that with them, but when you asked them the details of how they worked, things got very vague. I did get involved with some of the remote connections to networks type of stuff. Basically the way I understood it, you have a Blackberry Enterprise server running their software that acts like a gateway to your network. How the software secures the connection, if it's like a vpn or what, I never got that far into the details on it. I'll see if I can dig up that documentation for you if you want.

Edit: Found the pdf in my email if you want it. I can email it to you. Nice 20 page document that gives you an over view of how it works. We never wanted to take the Blackberry's that far to begin with. Initially we were just looking at a mobile office kind of device. Something our employees could use to replace their personal Palm Pilots that we always ended up supporting even though they are not company issued.
