I currently have the free 1 user version of Blackberry Professional setup and working for a user on AT&T

If we were to add additional licenses, would there be any problem using the same server to service devices on Nextel or Verizon as well?

The reason I ask is that when you download the software it asks you to select a carrier first.
I don't want to spend the $499 on the 5 user CAL if it's not going to work for us.

Thanks

Is this the server? We run blackberry enterprise and have phones from multiple carriers.

Yes, Blackberry Professional is basically a scaled down version of BES.

Based upon a recent presentation, it was my understanding that Blackberry users can EACH get a free license for this Blackberry server (up to the limit of the Blackberry server software). Look a bit deeper into those free licenses.

Yes it works with multiple carriers. Each server SRP that you get from Blackberry comes with 1 CAL - that's 1 device license. Each additional license is typically $99. Professional is basically BES but without MDS and limits you to 30 devices under management per server - but you can always add more servers in your domain later should you exceed 30.
