I just don't see anything in the new OS that will turn things around for blackberry. they will continue to do well in the enterprise market as things don't change on the corporate level very quickly, but i don't think they will be getting many more corporate accounts and IOS4 and Android 2.2 have come a long ways.

what do you guys think?

I think its too early to really tell until we actually see full reviews of the software/devices that go with it.

Actually I think it looks pretty good. RIM looks to be catching up, sure, but they are making much needed tweaks to the foundation they already have.

It won't make BB a lusted after device, but it'll sure make current owners and people who can only use BB's for work very happy.

exactly.
there is no reason for a non-business user to pick up a BB OS6 device over the current offerings from Android and iPhone.

I loved my BB that I had prior to my Droid. It was a wonderful phone. Great for it's core uses: phone calls, texts, emails. It was not good for apps or non-RIM software though. I loved the phone, because it was a very good phone.

Unfortunately, in the consumer market (i.e. non-business) people now want apps and a more PDA/mini-laptop and the phone parts have taken a backseat to other features.

From an OS standpoint, it looks like it catches up a good bit, but isn't terribly compelling to switch. I do envy the shit outta the battery life and call quality the BBs get though.

Current BB users will think its the second coming, but for the rest of the iOS/Android users it'll be "meh".

I don't think its ever too late in the mobile market, I just don't think BB is gonna do much to iOS/Android with BB OS 6. Maybe when BB OS 7 or 8 rolls out.

I think they get their battery life from their OS not pulling as much data. Also BB hardware is no where near as powerful as an Android/iPhone device.

It's not been announced yet, but I'm gonna say it: Personas. This is the big deal. You'll see soon enough.
