I am just trying to figure out if this is normal for a BB Curve 8330. The incessantly stalls or temporarily locks up when I'm doing anything. It seems to be related to when the is uploading or downloading.

The phone is frustrating as hell.

I need to find a phone that has good performance. No lockups, no stalls. When you push a button, it does whatever it's supposed to with no pausing.

Mine does randomly, but not very often. Still, I'd like to get a Tour if I can find a good price on one.

You need to watch memory on those devices. They only have 64Mb RAM and if you start installing Apps it gets full quickly. When it's full, you get the clock and you can either run Memory Cleaner, or battery pull to restart.

Rule of thumb is don't add apps to these devices as they don't have the space for them.

Also, update the OS on the device. Download the latest Desktop Manager from blackberry.com and choose 'update device software'. It will download and update your device to the latest code. If you have never done this, do this first.

Newer devices have up to 256Mb and should have around 120Mb free after boot, which is plenty for Apps.

All done. Using about 1/2 of the available memory. Plenty of room on the 8gb microSD card. Not running any apps aside from the ones that can't be shut down, and the phone is completely updated. I contacted Sprint support and they "refreshed" (whatever that is--I have no clue) the phone, and it seems to be working a bit better.

Seems like I need to OC the thing. I think I'm going to sell it and get a used phone until I can upgrade again. This is too frustrating to deal with for a phone.
