I'm waiting for the 8320, which will have WIFI.

My brother works at RIM, and he's been trying to get his hands on the 8300 all day yesterday.

The only thing I give a crap about is the keyboard, and thats not enough to justify that phone. I still havent found a good, cheap phone that also has QWERTY.

In the US, it'll be Cingular for the 8300. Supposedly the 8320 will be carried by T-mobile.

Meh. I have the DS browser and have only rarely found open free WiFi sites when travelling.

Dunno about the US. This is an unlocked GSM unit.

Are you sure about that? Most BBs are locked.

Very sure. My Pearl is unlocked, too. I got a seed unit when I got the Pearl.

Ah, you're in the UK. Yeah, Euro phones are unlocked.

That's because you're in the UK!

I'll say a good 80% of everywhere i go, i can hop onto an unsecure network (i don't go travelling in forests a lot though).

I travel all around Europe for business and rarely get WiFi for free. Plenty of WiFi, just not free!

Only at Heathrow and Luxembourg airport did I get free WiFi and at Heathrow you need to be in the right terminal, not all have it.

Obviously you never used earlier BBs. You wanna talk slow? Apply the DST update patch to a 7290. Fun fun. Most recent WinMo devices are just as stable as recent BBs. Most people's problems stem from installing crappy freeware apps on their phones that screw everything up.

Both RIM and MS have made improvements in areas they needed help. BB with more consumer friendly features and speed, WM with stability and speed. WM6 is a huge improvement in speed as well.

As long as we're griping, I don't know how you can stand using that crappy Pearl keyboard.

Also, just checked out BGR, and the 8320 won't have GPS...oh well, back to waiting for my perfect phone to come out...:(

I will. I need to do the migration from my Pearl at some point this weekend. It's fairly simple, but then I have to wait for Enterprise Activation as I'm on the Coporate email system, so I have to do this at the weekend.

What are you guys doing that you need wifi on the phone? I'd much rather have GPS, and use it a ton. I find EDGE is fast enough for surfing most mobile sites.

I think that the ball is better than the wheel. I adapted quickly and now snicker when I have to work on wheel-BBs.

Well because in Canada, 200mb of data costs $100.
