I"m looking at trying to buy a phone to replace my current one. I want email and data.

I"ve been looking at the blackberry 8830 world edition and like it a lot. Since I don't know much about blackberry's/smart phones, is this the best offer for verizon right now?

They also offer a blackberry 8703e but it's slightly different and doesn't have the trackball.

Are there any other (better) options for a smart phone from verizon?

I will be buying a phone out of contract, maybe off of ebay, so the prices on verizon's website don't matter.

I was about to say "I just got the Pearl and love it. I think it is actually a better phone then the 8830 WE, with a few minor exceptions" until I read that part. For me I want a camera so the WE is out, but if the camera wasn't a big deal (or couldn't have it) I would have looked at the WE much more in depth.

I love the BB, its a great phone. No issues with it yet.

If I could have a camera I"d probably pay more attention to the curve... but it sucks having to leave my phone in the car while I"m at work. I hardly ever use my camera on my current phone anyways.

I just need to find a good deal on a 8830 now.

if you want to stick with Verizon, theres only really 2 choices for smartphone w/o camera. The 8830 or the Treo 700wx. The treo is avalible with and without a camera, and you may have to order the no camera version online from verizon. But truthfully, the 700wx is a awful phone. Go with the 8830.

ordered an 8830 today. it looks to be a great phone and very stylish. I'm stuck with verizon for another year anyways.
