Police announced Tuesday they believe Sharmeka Moffitt fabricated a story about being attacked and burned Sunday night at Civitan Park in Winnsboro by three men who wrote “KKK” on the hood of her car, and instead set herself afire.


Moffitt, 20, told police she was walking on a park trail when she was attacked and set afire by three men wearing white T-shirt hoodies. She remains at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport in critical condition.

UPDATE:

The woman in the story could face multiple charges of felonies and misdemeanors.

Sharmeka Moffitt, the woman police say fabricated a story about being attacked and burned in a Winnsboro park, will likely face criminal charges, 5th District Attorney Mack Lancaster said Wednesday.

Lancaster said many charges, both felonies and misdemeanors, could be filed against Moffitt.

“I think there must be some consequences,” Lancaster said. “This is almost a hate crime, figuratively, against the community. Had the law enforcement agencies not acted so fast and effectively this could have incited a volatile civic situation.”

Enormous resources were used, from manpower to State Police helicopters to the State Police crime lab.

Fifth District Attorney Mack Lancaster said this morning the Moffitt has been charged with one count of terrorizing and one count of false swearing for the purpose of violating public safety.

Moffitt’s arraignment is set for April 23 in Winnsboro in front of 5th District Judge Rudy McIntyre.

Terrorizing carries a maximum sentence of 15 years, while false swearing carries a maximum sentence of five years. Both counts also carry fines.

Update 4/3/13: She was booked in jail on terrorism charge.

Our public school system still infuses a lot of this antiquated mythos about the great white monsters out to oppress and harm blacks, but we live in a day and age when a humorously small number of whites in the US have hatred for blacks, and within that already small number, the number willing to do physical violence or any overt act which might endanger their livelihood, etc... is vanishingly small. Not non-existent, but nearly so.

The number of blacks nowadays who have some level of hatred for whites and are willing to, and do... commit acts of violence and other criminality against whites while expressly coming right out and telling the victim, or their friends later on social media, that a large part of their motivation in targeting them was their race? Astronomically high.

Boredom.

There was a white skater kid a few months back that was dicking around inside of a parking garage and slammed into a wall...knocking himself out cold. When he came to, he went to get help and told the police that a group of black males tried to rob him and beat him to death. He gave descriptions and everything. The donations started pouring in...and then, the security camera footage from the garage is released showing his dumb ass down there skating and not paying attention as he wen't flying towards the concrete pillar.
