Black & White unplayable on my Win2k dually machine.

Hello,

I have played Black & White up untill land 4.
It was a tad sluggish but still playable. Once I got to land 4 the game got so slow as to become unplayable.

My specs are:

Win2k
dual 600 P-III
384 RAM
Geforce 1 DDR 32 Meg

Res is 800x600
and game is set to lowest video quality.

I have tried differnt drivers and anything else I could think of, such as a general system cleanup.
No applications are running in the background.

There are some issues with this game and Win2k.. but they are crashes
and BSOD and such... I dont have any of those issues.
I have called EA tech support and as always they where no help.

What is confusing is that in land 4 the map is much smaller than previous maps... so I dont know why it choose to act up at that point.


Any suggestions for making this game run on my machine?

WOOT!!

I got the game working, and I was even able to crank up the display settings while getting smooth gameplay.

All I did was disable the internet weather monitor
feature. Perhaps this is an unducumented problem
with Win2k and the game... and also perhaps complicated by the fact that it has been raining in my area a lot. I am not sure.. perhaps its just my system.
Anyway... the game works now and I am happy.
