Black Screen

Help, while playing a dvd it would not play video, only choppy audio, black screen only. Went to adjust the picture using the programs control settings and selected BEST PICTURE, the screen went to a very low resolution, froze and then went black. Reboot and will go through the normal loading but when o/s (windows XP) loads, there is just a black screen. Clicking the mouse will result in the case speaker beeping with each mouse click and a message from the monitor that I should reconfig my resolution to 1280 x 1024. Any ideas?

Seems to me that you are trying to load the video using some kind of DVD player program ... try loading it using Windows Media Player .. tell me if it still occurs
