Black screen of death is real

My friend just got it. Not sure what to do about it except to reformat. Going to bring over the windows discs soon.

Well, I didn't need to re-install. He fixed it. He could boot it in "Safe Mode with Directory Services Restore", but couldn't do much. He managed to get Malwarebytes to update, and then it took out whatever it was that was causing the BLSOD.
