Hi,
At this moment I'm working in safe mode. I alter the display settings, click ok, then find they've gone back to 800x600,plus, I tried the colour at 16 bit, but, it all goes back to what ever. This all came about because I had a margin on the right of my desktop. My wife also uses this pc, and her desktop loses the taskbar.So I tried to correct this and ended up in this situation. Oh, I forgot to say although it's in the heading, I can only work in safe mode. I'm completely lost and don't know what to do. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

You didn't give up much to go on...So I have to guess.

My first guess is that the video drivers got clobered.
Suggest you "uninstall" the video card drivers, reboot
and let windows reinstall the drivers. Or you may have to
do it yourself.

Hi,
I honestly can't believe how dopey I've been. I did as you suggested , and after the driver install I was asked about the Monitor drivers and thats when it hit me." last week I swapped over my monitors. The 21" was in the den which I haven't been useing lately and I was useing a 19" here, they're both SyncMasters so i didn"t give it much thought about drivers. Well all's well that ends well, everything seems in order now. Thanks for your post/advice.
