Black Screen After Driver Install Reboot

OK I have an msi gf4 4200 video card in an abit nf7-s board. I know that the configuration worked perfectly in my windows 2000. Fast forward to now when I put the same mobo and video into a new computer which I installed a fresh windows xp install. Right after I install drivers for the video card it goes through the splash screen then it goes black and loses signal.

I have tried going through into safe mode, but then the drivers don't appear. I also went into vga mode, it will boot and as soon as I change any setting it will go either dead, or a balck screen with exclamation points once, or random patterns. I know it isn't simply refresh rates. I have tried almost every version of the nvidia drivers but no avail. Basically I am stumped. I know the card worked perfectly before, and I have tried both of my lcd monitors and nothing works. The only way to get windows to boot is to remove the driver and use the built in windows default driver. Which means I can't run any programs that need video.

Any help that any of you can give would be very appreciated right now I have exhausted my resources otherwise.

Yes, after a little more research I have found that it is card specific. Possibly a particular revision, but others have had the problem and no solution except RMA. Thanks for trying to help though.
