Black printing w/o color cartridge, Epson

I have an Epson C80 color ink jet printer. The printer is out of Magneta, and almost out of the other two colors. However, the black cartridge is full. I am purchasing a new printer soon, but I want to continue to use this printer for black copies only but when I try to print, the Epson printer monitor says that I am out of Magneta and won't allow me to continue. I have set the preferences to print in black, and I'm only trying to print a black and white text file. Anyone know how to bypass this? I looked on Epson's website and couldn't find the answer or even an email address to contact their tech support. Thanks.
