So I know that Black Ops got off to a bumpy start with the PC crowd. Lots of complaints about buggy performance and overall crappy gameplay. My question to everyone who has this game is have the problems been fixed? I noticed that the price has gone down and I'm looking for something to get on with and play multiplayer with friends. Is it worth getting now or are there still issues? Thanks in advance for the feedback.

Are there really no people with comments on this? Does that mean that no one plays it now...if so, then I guess that answers my question.

I've owned the game since release and have played it gradually less since then. In MY personal experience the game has been fairly unplayable from release however your results may vary. In fact a patch they released in mid December more or less fixed the game for me but then a later patch broke it again... Now considering they still charge full price for it I'd stay away from it and stick with MW1 (which I find myself returning to more all the more often when frustrated with Black Ops).

It plays fine for me. The only issue I had was that I was forced to disable "Shader Warming". I preferred MW2 but still have fun with BOps.

Ive been playing fairly consistently since release. Never had any problems, still runs smooth as ever.

Obviously gameplay is still the same so if that was a "problem" to you then it still hasnt gotten better

Main problems still plaguing the game today:

Server browser acts up; sometimes it doesn't like to populate

Idiots who still don't note that their server is Hardcore :) (user errors on this one)

Matchmaking in zombie mode is still broken - I have to hope that my buddy and I will join the same random game - inviting each other either sends us to a different match or makes us hang at the "connecting" screen

Once you can actually join a game, there are no problems that I'm aware of.

Ridiculous. They should refund everyone's money till they make a product that works.

I never found the game to be horribly buggy. There were some bugs, but they weren't what caused me to stop playing. I stopped playing because I realized that Treyarch had once again failed to meet the standards set by IW. I'd rather deal with the matchmaking system in MW2 in exchange for far better gameplay.

I still often get stutters while I'm being shot at. Also I still think they should bring back the create a party option from mw2. Overall though it's very playable and a much better game than mw2 imo.

I bought it on release and the game still crashes on me. Damn Crash Ops! :(

Performance has improved for me which is nice as it runs pretty terrible for what it looks like.

In spite of several patches that were meant to fix crashes and address stability, I still have problems. In singleplayer, it crashes 5-10 minutes into the first mission.

In multiplayer, it works fine for one round but as it loads the second map, it crashes. So basically I can play one round, crash and have to restart, and play again.

At this point I don't think it'll get fixed for me. I can only wait till I buy a new computer which could be up to a year, so it stinks that I paid $60 on release for a game I can't play for a while.

edit: So I still play MW2 and enjoy that. Actually MW2 has been perfect for me since release other than the occasional cheater ruining it.

Its better than launch and I have no complaints, but there is just something off about it. Just doesnt feel like a prime time game. Once I hit level 50 and got all the good pro perks, I've had no desire to play it again.

Well it sounds like it's still a mixed bag. When I started this thread a few days ago it was $40 on amazon for pc and now it is back up to $50. So I guess it doesn't matter now anyways as there are very few games I'd even pay $50 for. Thanks for everyone's input.

Yeah, I haven't had any problems with the game, but gameplay is awful. I agree with what someone else said in that the game just doesn't seem like its a big title game. Kind of has a cheap feel to it.

The last time I was really into computer games was the days of Wolfenstein enemy territory. I loved that game so much.

I really wish I could buy a version of the game with all the multiplayer crap ripped out of it for $20.

I beat the SP on Hard... played MP once.. and then turned back to BC2... never touched BLOPS after that.. I should really play it again.. what a waste of $60.... must resist hype.. except BF3 hype of course! ;)

I bought it late last year. I never had any major issues with the game. It played just fine on both the single player and the multiplayer....and my pc its not new by any means :-( The server browser sometimes acts up by not showing your favorite or recent played servers.

ive gotten pretty bored of the game after 1st prestige...
what sucks is that we are going to have to pay for new maps that will keep the game fresh for like a month at the most.
gone are the days when treyarch gave us free maps like with World at War (which i still play).
