Finally will be allowed to take office of Newbern Alabama. The 133-person town is about 80% Black and 20% white, but the town’s leadership, excluding Braxton and his town council, has been majority white for decades.

Imagine this happens in the United States of America in 2024. But if you listen to some racism, isn't a problem.

I want to congratulate Mayor Patrick for finally achieving what was supposed to happen 4 years ago.

"Well, gawrsh, we had no earthly notion you were SUPPOSED to have elections instead of just pickin' one of the good ol' boys to run the city!" 🙄

I posted someone a copy of this story and commented, "this country should be ashamed" I got a response that disagreed because he is Mayor now.

Was my comment over the top?

I don’t know about the whole country but Alabama should be. That is utterly disgusting. But we all know it is the woke democrats and black people who are the real racists for denying those wonderful white men their god given right to hold power in perpetuity.

lmao, American 'justice'

“They claimed that they didn’t know they had to,” Fajana said. “Instead, their process was when a position became vacant, they would just kind of recruit among their community and the people that they knew. They would just appoint that person and it would happen, basically, in a covert manner. That had been the process for as long as anybody could remember. Anybody who was serving in the past town council said that’s how they came to power.”

Per the settlement, the defendants “specifically deny having engaged in any wrongful practice, or other unlawful conduct”, saying instead they reached the “compromise” to avoid protracted litigation.

Well, of course it was. You're obviously just one of those angry black men who is angry for no observable reason. For shame! Now, get cracking. That cotton won't pick itself, boy! /s

The irony in this, black man wins an election and white men keep him out of office

White man loses an election he gins up his lemmings to burn the shit to the ground and is never pays the price for it (most likely outcome)
