Jamal Spencer and his white neighbor got in an altercation at a bar in PA. As they were leaving they were accosted by a number of men yelling racial slurs.

His neighbor reported that the men beating him stopped when Jamal who was armed and had a concealed weapons permit fired once killing one of the attackers.

The jury found him not guilty under PAs self defense laws.

See justice is served regardless of skin color. Innocent until guilty.

Oh one more thing, since this is America Jamal spent 453 days in jail until he was acquitted.

Apparently the story is true.

CNN just reported that hell has frozen over.

I don't understand the no bail part... Every article I found says that bail was denied, but no reason given. Maybe a shitty lawyer?

Really? No idea why he might have been denied bail? The man had no criminal history and was a valid conceal carry permit holder. He ran a business making 6 figures.

Then he runs into a bunch of racists at a bar...

I mean it's not like he walked into someone else's home and shot them dead.

He should have never spent a day in jail, hell, prosecutors should have never brought charges against him. Ridiculous. Probably thought they had a slam dunk case against a black guy with a racist enough jury.

Meanwhile, Curtis Reeves, the retired police officer who shot and killed a man in a movie theater over texting, has been out on bail since 2014 and his trial is set for February 25, 2019. That could change since FL changed their Stand Your Ground law and he may get another trial on that before his set trial date The speed of justice seems to vary greatly depending on who the accused is.

The first thing a guy with a 6 figure business does is hire a shitty lawyer. Come on, you know perfectly well that a black with a conceal carry permit will go into bars looking to provoke some stupid white racist so he can kill him. It was premeditated murder that got him the year. Put some thinking into your rationalizations.

I don’t think stand your ground will hold water in this case. Old man murdered a guy for texting, simplemas that.

Agreed, but mobs routinely demanded otherwise in the name of “Social Justice” for similar self-defense situations in the past. Careful what you wish for?

Also, is 15 months even remotely considered a speedy trial that is guaranteed by the Constitution while a man sits in jail after being denied bail? He and his lawyer could have signed away that right if they thought it was in their interest to do so but I don't really see anything on the defense side that would require that looking at the few articles that I read.

I wonder why it was pointed out that the man was black and the other guy white? It didn’t seem to be a race related incident, so why make the story about race?

I'm pretty sure that the use of the N word met the bar for making it a racial issue.

Admittedly it was late and I haven’t read the article, will do that later. The people such as yourself who call me a concern troll are using the personal attack wrong and excessively. I didn’t post a fake concern post, I asked a simple question and didn’t read the post right. Asking to stop using that personal attack, it’s getting old with the blatant excessive use of it and in 99.99% of the time it’s posted it doesn’t even fit my post.

Pathetic. Willful ignorance on display. You're right, 100% of the time it fits.

I don’t fit the definition and you use the attack very excessively and you constantly engage in it. I’m asking you to stop.

8/3/12 -- Insults and personal attacks, while permitted, are not to be excessively vitriolic or scatological in nature, nor will any one poster be allowed constantly engage in them. Please let common sense, and some idea of proportion and civility be your guide.
