sup all... I was wondering how to get rid of the black lines above and below the screen in some games like the last remnant and mirrors edge.. in 1680x1080 res... is like they add the lines because the screen is 16:10 and it want it 16:9 .. I am like what the hell.. is 16:10 more common.. then why the lines.. anyway... is there a way to get rid of them ..???

From what I hear, a lot of the games coming out that are multi-platform conform to 16:9 aspect ratio resolutions for the sake of native res for the consoles. I guess it's just easier for the developers to leave it as is and put horizontal black bars for those of us who haven't moved to a 16:9 LCD monitor yet (or who game on TVs)?

It's either that or they would have to provide a "widescreen fix" like Bioshock and Far Cry 2 did eventually.

hm... sounds like another side effect of the crappy console port...

any idea of how to fix it???

Yeah.... I waited for a Mirror's Edge fix for months, it didn't came. I waited then for a FEAR 2 fix, it also didn't came. The bottom line is that, in this period of time, when console porting is a general trend, a 16:9 monitor is very useful. Didn't knew this when I've bought mine though...
